Our Method and Structure.
Strong and efficient,
planned for short time studies.
Our teaching method
is rooted in communication skills. We believe this is the most natural
process to learn a language. Our teachers, or facilitators as we call
them, use interactive and communicative teaching techniques in order to
motivate you to speak in Spanish. Our facilitators have a 'knack' for
being able to figure out their students and apply effective teaching
methods for that particular student.
Vocabulary,
contextual materials, visual aids, and formal rules on how to achieve
communication fluency, make up the majority of the content in classes.
Among others, other contextual materials include common life
activities, cultural and tourist knowledge. Additionally, Spanish
School Arequipa has developed its own materials to support your
learning process.
Your course of
learning will be adjusted to your needs and to the length of time you
will be staying. You will tell us your objectives, and we will
recommend the best path to achieve them. One week is our minimum
required length for each course and more time is always best when
learning a new language.
Activities and
immersion environment are used as reinforcement to your learning. Of
course, nothing supplies your effort and devotion to learning. We are
only the catalyst in your learning, giving you the tools, the proper
environment and support, the rest is up to you! We recommend a
structured schedule, no long night parties and a ready-to-work and be
devoted attitude in order to achieve your goal of learning Spanish.
How we do it
Our strength at
Spanish School Arequipa are our individual 1 to 1 classes. Due to the
short time most students have to learn and our desire to offer you the
personal devotion of your teachers, 1 to 1 classes are more effective
than group classes. If money is your concern, remember, our private
classes are the same or less than other Spanish schools in Lima and
Cusco that charge you for group classes!!!
Group courses are
offered upon request. If you are traveling with friends or family, and
would like to take a group course, we would be happy to discuss your
needs. The maximum number of students is four per group and all
students should have the same level of Spanish.
Minimum length
required for any course is one week, which breaks down into 20 lessons
at four hours per day, five times a week.
The first class is
two hours typically consist of grammar, then each student receives a 15
minute break and the second two hour class typically works improving on
speaking and communication skills. Each student receives two teachers
in order to increase exposure to different accents and teaching styles.
Materials are paid separately. Accommodation is optional. Classes start
every monday. Daily from 9 am to 1 pm. Extra courses available during
the afternoon.
All students staying
more than 1 week are eligible for free social job tours if they decide
to. An extra activity for free is also included.
***Volunteer jobs
available only for a one month or longer stay. Please ask for more
details!
